Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
In short
- Mangahub keeps your reading library, your stats and, if you choose, a public profile with your reviews. That is what we use your data for.
- No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites; Mangahub itself uses no analytics tools (for Google sign-in, see What we collect); and we never sell your data.
- Your profile is private until you make it public. Your notes, quotes, goals, folders, chapter alerts and email address are never public.
- You can export your readings, notes, quotes, folders, chapter alerts and reviews, and delete your account, in the app at any time.
Who is responsible
Mangahub is made by an independent developer in Spain, who is the controller of your personal data:
Álvaro Juan Ciriaco · contact@getmangahub.com
Write to contact@getmangahub.com about anything in this policy. We answer in English and Spanish.
What we collect
Your account
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identifier for your account, your email address (with Apple it may be a private relay address) and, if the provider gives it, your name, which becomes your first display name. Google may also share the address of your profile picture, which our sign-in service keeps with your account. Google’s sign-in kit, which the app includes, declares in its own privacy manifest that it collects name, email, user ID, phone number, coarse location, device ID, other usage data and other data, some of it for Google’s own analytics. Mangahub’s code reads none of the extra ones: Mangahub receives only the account identity it needs to sign you in (see Google’s privacy policy). If you use Sign in with Apple, we also keep a token from Apple, encrypted, so that we can tell Apple to end the link with Mangahub when you delete your account. To use Mangahub you need to sign in with Apple or Google; everything else (profile, photo, bio, reviews, notes) is optional, and without it only that feature is unavailable.
Your library and your stats
The series you add and their status, the chapters and volumes you read, your scores, dates, rereads and goals, and the history of your progress and scores, from which we draw your stats, your calendar, your streak and your year in manga. The folders you sort your readings into, with their name and colour. With Pro, also your reading notes and quotes. Your device sends its time zone with each request, so that your days are counted in your own time.
Your profile and your reviews
Your nickname, display name, short bio and profile photo; whether your profile is public; when you accepted the publishing guidelines; and when you passed the age check. For the age check, Apple shares only an age range with the app, which we use at that moment: we store only that the check passed, never your age or your date of birth. We also keep your reviews, the people you block and the reports you send.
Mangahub Pro
Purchases are made through Apple, and we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions for us, receives your Mangahub account identifier, your purchase history from Apple and technical data from your device (such as its IP address, model, system and app version); we keep the state of your subscription: the product, its dates, the store, Apple’s transaction identifier, the dates of any cancellation, billing problem or refund, and whether it is active.
Chapter alerts
With Pro, you can ring the bell on a series to be told when an official chapter comes out. We keep the bells you set, on or off, and your notification settings: whether chapter alerts are on, your quiet hours and the time zone they are counted in. If you allow notifications, each of your devices registers its push token (the address Apple gives the app on that device to deliver notifications to it), the push environment it belongs to, the app’s language, the device’s time zone and the app’s version: the token to deliver your alerts, the language to write them in and the time zone to keep them out of your quiet hours. We keep at most 10 devices per account, the alerts waiting to be sent to you and a record of those already sent. The text of an alert, with the series and the chapter, reaches your device through Apple’s push service. To know when a chapter is out, our server reads the official releases from MangaUpdates and matches the series with Wikidata; those are facts about series, not about you, and we send them nothing about you.
Technical data
Our servers receive your IP address and the technical details of each request, which our hosting provider keeps in its logs (see How long we keep data).
On your device only
Your appearance and haptics settings and the last known state of your Pro stay on your device and are not sent to us. So does your language setting, unless you allow notifications: then each device sends it with its registration (see Chapter alerts).
Two more things stay on your device for a while: unsent note drafts, which are cleared when you sign out, and the name Apple gives the app the first time you sign in, which is kept only until it is saved to your profile.
Covers and images
Series covers and banners load from AniList’s image servers (an independent service, not our processor), which receive your device’s IP address and the technical details of the request, like any website you visit, and handle them under their own privacy policy. We send AniList nothing about you: only our server talks to AniList, to keep the catalogue up to date.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics and loads nothing from other sites. Vercel, which hosts it, processes your IP address to deliver its pages.
Why we use it
- To run the service you asked for: your account, your library and stats, Pro, the chapter alerts you turn on and the social features you choose (performance of a contract, GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep Mangahub safe: preventing abuse, applying the publishing guidelines and handling reports (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f), and our duties under the EU Digital Services Act, Article 6(1)(c)).
- To count what readers read most, anonymously (our legitimate interest; see Most read on Mangahub).
- To check your age before you publish, with the age range Apple shares (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
- To bring your readings from CollectHub when you accept (performance of a contract at your request, Article 6(1)(b); the first check of whether you have readings, our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f); see Bringing your readings from CollectHub).
- To answer you when you write to us (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f), or the performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b)).
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not profile you for marketing and we never sell it. Recommended for you and Because you read are worked out from your own library, only for you.
What other people see
Your profile is private when you create your account. While it is private, nobody else sees it: it does not appear in reviews, in search or in who’s reading a series.
If you make it public, other readers see your nickname, display name, photo and bio, your readings with their status, score, chapters and volumes read and the date you added them (except Plan to read, which only you see), your reviews, your totals, the date you created your account and, with Pro, the verified badge. Your notes, quotes, goals, folders, chapter alerts and email address are never shown. You need a public profile to write reviews. If you block someone, neither of you sees the other.
Moderation
To keep reviews and profiles safe, names, bios and reviews pass through a word filter, and anyone can report a review or a profile. Each report, with the text reported, reaches the developer by email, and the developer decides on it. Depending on the case, we may hide a review, clear a name, bio, photo or nickname (a cleared nickname is kept, without any link to you, so that nobody can use it again), limit the visibility of a profile or suspend an account. The word filter and the temporary hiding of a review reported by 3 trusted readers are automatic. We make no decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing: a person decides on every report.
A profile with limited visibility can still be opened from a direct link and shows its readings, but it no longer appears in search or in who’s reading a series, and its reviews show only to its owner; someone who knows the nickname may notice. Limited and suspended accounts do not count towards Most read on Mangahub.
When we restrict your content or your account, we tell you by email, with our reasons (see the Terms of Service). We keep moderation records: the report, the decision and the pseudonymous identifier of the account involved.
Most read on Mangahub
Discover shows the series readers read most over the last 7 days. It counts how many different readers made progress in each series, private profiles included, and shows a series only once at least 5 different readers have read it. It shows only the order, never how many readers or who they are.
Bringing your readings from CollectHub
CollectHub is another app by the same developer. After you first sign in, Mangahub checks, by the Apple or Google identity you used, whether a CollectHub account with that identity has readings, and how many. Nothing is copied unless you accept. If you do, your CollectHub readings and their history, notes, quotes, goals and reviews are copied into your Mangahub account. Your CollectHub name and bio are copied too if your Mangahub profile has none, and your CollectHub nickname is offered to you if it is free here. Nothing imported becomes public unless you make your profile public. Your CollectHub account does not change.
Who helps us
These processors handle data on our behalf, under an agreement with us:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, storage, server functions and logs, in the European Union (Ireland).
- RevenueCat (United States): subscriptions.
- Resend (United States): the emails that alert the developer, reports included.
- Hostinger (European Union): the mailbox of contact@getmangahub.com, which receives your messages, the reports and the alerts.
- Vercel (United States): this website.
- Apple (United States): the Apple Push Notification service, which delivers your chapter alerts to your devices by their push token.
These services act on their own, under their own privacy policies:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, the App Store, purchases and the age range.
- Google: Sign in with Google. Its sign-in kit in the app declares more data than Mangahub reads (see What we collect); Google’s own use of data follows its privacy policy.
- AniList: the catalogue and the images of covers and banners, which load directly from its servers.
- MangaUpdates and Wikidata: the official chapter releases and the matching of series between catalogues, which only our server reads; we send them nothing about you.
We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
Transfers outside the EU
Your account and your library are stored in the EU (Ireland). RevenueCat, Resend, Vercel and Apple, for its push service, are based in the United States, and Supabase, Inc., the company behind Supabase, is a United States company that may reach data stored in the EU for support and operations; transfers to them rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Apple, Google and AniList, as independent services, have their own transfers, which their policies describe.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your profile, your library and its history, your notes, quotes, folders, reviews and blocks, your chapter alerts, notification settings and devices, your photo, your subscription record, your Apple token and the record of your import, and we ask Apple and RevenueCat to delete what they hold for Mangahub. A few things remain, on purpose:
- The pseudonymous identifier of your account in moderation records (reports and decisions) and in our operational alerts, with no name or email address. Without your account, it no longer points to anyone.
- If Apple or RevenueCat could not be reached at that moment, a record to try again, with your account’s identifier and, if Apple has to be asked again, your Apple token, encrypted. We delete it within 31 days.
- Alert emails already delivered to the developer’s mailbox, which cannot be recalled: the email about a report carries the reported text, the author’s nickname and name and the reporter’s note. When you delete your account we empty their copies in our database; the emails stay in the mailbox (and in the email service’s own logs, which expire under its own retention) until the developer deletes them.
- A nickname removed by moderation, without any link to you.
- Our hosting provider’s logs (each sign-in with its email address, identifier and IP address, and the logs of our server functions) expire on their own after 7 days.
- Daily backups of the database expire after 7 days. If we ever had to restore one, we would delete again every account deleted since.
- Your profile photo may still be served from caches for up to 1 hour after you change or remove it.
Chapter alerts keep less: a device’s registration is deleted when you sign out on it or after 120 days without being seen, and the record of an alert 30 days after it is sent or given up.
Deleting your Mangahub account does not affect CollectHub.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete and export your data, object to its use and ask us to restrict it. Much of it you can do in the app: edit your profile, delete readings, export your readings, notes, quotes, folders, chapter alerts and reviews, and delete your account. For anything else (such as a copy of your profile, goals, history and blocks), write to contact@getmangahub.com; we answer within 1 month. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or to the authority where you live.
Children
Mangahub is for readers aged 13 or over. If Apple tells the app that you are under 18, you cannot make your profile public or write reviews. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it, and a parent or guardian can write to us at contact@getmangahub.com to ask for it.
Security
Data travels encrypted and is stored encrypted. The database itself lets each person read only their own private data, and your Apple token is encrypted with a key of its own.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
Language
This policy is available in English, Spanish, German, French and Italian. If the versions differ, the English one prevails, unless the law says otherwise.
